About FarmFlow DE
FarmFlow DE was created by the team behind G's DElights, a Delaware-based food processor committed to rescuing surplus and cosmetically imperfect produce from local farms and transforming it into value-added products.
Working alongside farmers every week has given us a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing our local food system. We've seen perfectly edible produce lose value simply because it doesn't meet retail specifications, demand shifts unexpectedly, or harvests exceed available markets. At the same time, we've heard from restaurants, food manufacturers, grocery stores, schools, and other wholesale buyers looking for easier ways to source local products.
Those experiences revealed a clear opportunity: the connection between farms with available produce and buyers actively seeking local products is often fragmented, leaving valuable food without a market.
FarmFlow DE was built to help change that.
Our mission is to strengthen Delaware's food system by creating a centralized marketplace where farms can connect directly with wholesale buyers, recover more value from every harvest, reduce unnecessary food waste, and make local sourcing simpler and more efficient.
Rather than investing immediately in a fully custom platform based on assumptions, we developed an initial proof of concept using Sharetribe. This pilot version gives Delaware farms and wholesale buyers a functional marketplace to test in real-world conditions while allowing us to evaluate demand, usability, transaction activity, and the features users actually need.
Delaware is uniquely positioned to serve as the proving ground for this concept. As one of the nation's smallest states, our close-knit agricultural community allows us to test, learn, refine, and improve the marketplace in a real-world environment before exploring opportunities to scale the model beyond our state.
The FarmFlow DE pilot will run from October 1 through December 31, 2026. Every listing created, transaction completed, and conversation with our pilot partners will provide valuable insight into what works, what needs improvement, and what additional tools would create the greatest impact. The data and feedback collected during the pilot will help inform the next phase of FarmFlow DE's development, including potential features such as nonprofit food donation integration, delivery coordination, enhanced inventory management, reporting, and more.
FarmFlow DE is more than a marketplace. It's a long-term effort to improve connectivity across Delaware's agricultural community, create new economic opportunities for local farms, reduce food waste, and build a stronger, more resilient regional food system.
Together, we're proving that when farmers, buyers, and community partners are better connected, everyone benefits.
FarmFlow DE is more than a marketplace.
It's an investment in Delaware agriculture, local businesses, and the future of food.
